West Mersea Bowls Club

Home

The club has been established for over 50 years and has an enviable reputation as a friendly club. We offer indoor and outdoor bowling for all ages and currently we have members from age 15 years to 90 plus. We offer all year round bowling on either our magnificent outdoor rinks overlooking the Strood or on our recently refurbished indoor rinks. We welcome new members of any gender and there are a variety of membership options available e.g. Summer (outdoor and indoor), winter (indoor) or social only membership. The club coaches offer individual coaching for new bowlers or previous bowlers returning to bowls after a period away. There is a full programme of friendly and competitive matches, against other local clubs, throughout the year. As there is a fully licensed club house with ample private car parking and a full social programme including theatre visits, there is something for every one.

From Colchester take the B1025 Mersea Road to Mersea Island and continue on the B1025 into West Mersea past the playing Fields on the left. Continue at the right hand fork onto Colchester Road and the club is on the Right hand side at the junction with High Street North. Extreme caution is required as this is a blind bend.

Mersea Island, as the name implies, is an island and is cut off at certain high tides therefore you are recommended to check here for the following tide times before visiting:
